The Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore) or MDAS, held its Benefit Gala, themed A Night In Brazil, on 22 September at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore. Supported by the Embassy of Brazil and organised by a committee chaired by Mrs Genevieve Peggy Jeffs, the event was graced by the Ambassador of Brazil HE Flávio S. Damico and wife Mrs Rosa Maria Campos Damico.
Founded in 2000, MDAS aims to maximise the quality of life of people with Muscular Dystrophy and their families, help them integrate into society and support research towards a cure. In a bid to raise funds for the association’s cause, various activities including a live auction, silent auction and raffle ticket draw was carried out through the course of the evening.
It was also a night of merrymaking with performances by SMU Samba Masala, Maya Raisha, Luka Anthony Bjelis and Samba dancers Andy & Julie. Social elites Chermaine Pang, Pamela Ardana and Frances Low also graced the stage and modeled in the Eskpade Hat Show by miliner Kristine Hakim.

新加坡肌肉萎缩症协会成立于2000年, 协助肌肉萎缩症病患与病患家庭,锻炼他们的生活技能, 帮助他们融入社会;也致力于研发新的治疗方法。 当晚现场举办了不同的活动,包括现场拍卖、纸上拍卖以及抽奖等; 新加坡管理大学(SMU) 的学生也呈现了一些列精彩的森巴舞蹈表演。名媛 Chermaine Pang、Pamela Ardana 以及Frances Low也担任模特儿,展示由 miliner Kristine Haki策划的Eskpade帽子秀。
