The Singapore Symphony Orchestra Benefit Dinner was held at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia,with the theme of ‘Happily Ever After’ as the dinner paid tribute to fairy tales and famous stories close to our
hearts, with musical theatre star Juan Jackson receiving wild applause as he gave an
inspiring performance of Over the Rainbow, Some Enchanted Evening, Go the Distance,
Can You Feel The Love Tonight and Defying Gravity. Partnering Jackson was Singaporean guest singer Imelda Teo with SSO Associate Conductor Jason Lai conducting.
It was a was truly a night with a happy ending, as the Singapore Symphony Orchestra raised $1,035,000 through its glitzy benefit dinner. Over 470 guests attended the dinner, including Ms Grace Fu, the Minister for Culture,Community and Youth. The SSO Benefit Dinner was organized by members of the SSO Ladies’ League which is chaired by Mrs Odile Benjamin.
NSL Ltd received the SSO Benefactor Award for having contributed more than $1 million to
the SSO over the years. NSL has supported the SSO for over 30 years and is currently the
Official Postage Sponsor of the orchestra.
